Sheldon Lavin and OSI Group Propel Food Innovation

Sheldon Lavin is the CEO of OSI Group and has led them to a season of tremendous growth and expansion. When he took the reins of OSI in the middle seventies he had global aspirations in mind. With a prescient insight into the possibilities of the McDonald’s franchise model and a good working relationship with McDonald’s CEO Ray Croc, Lavin has used this core component of their business as a springboard for global expansion. They are now a premier provider of food service processing and development.

Lavin’s involvement with OSI Group goes back to the precursor family business known as Otto & Sons. They had become a supplier to the burgeoning McDonald’s chain and needed capital to expand their business. Lavin helped them secure financing via consulting firm. By then, Lavin had developed significant skills and experience in banking. Eventually, he became a full partner with Otto & Sons. Upon the family’s retirement from business, Lavin bought the entire company which was renamed OSI Group. For more info about us: https://www.rmhc.org/board-of-trustees click here.
